Teeth can easily become discoloured by tea, coffee, red wine or other foods and drinks with strong colourings. Tooth whitening is a simple procedure that can effectively lighten the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces. The whitening effects can last up to three years. Whilst tooth whitening treatments abound, Tooth Whitening is only legally allowed to be provided by a dental health professional. There is a very important reason for this; dentists are the experts in dental care. Unlike a bad hair cut, mistakes when it comes to your teeth can’t easily be corrected.
We offer two different whitening options
White Dental Beauty, includes bespoke trays and whitening gels
Go Whitening, simple, quick and no impressions required
The total teeth whitening treatment can be completed within three to four weeks here at our sister company Brixworth Dental Practice, Northampton.
Your 1st appointment, if needed, would be an assessment with our dentist to confirm your expectations and whether you will be able to achieve this.
At your 2nd appointment, we will take impressions of your mouth in order to have whitening trays made especially to fit your teeth.
Your 3rd appointment will take place once we have received the new teeth whitening trays. Firstly we check the trays fit accurately. Then we take you through the ‘instructions for home use’ leaflet to ensure you understand how to complete the procedure. We will advise on dosage amounts, time scales, storage and any side effects. You will then take away the new teeth whitening trays and syringes of bleaching gels for use at home.
A review appointment will then be booked with us here at Brixworth Dental Practice, Northampton in order to assess the progress and compare your new and old shades.
Will the whitening gel damage my teeth?
Not at all. The gels are made up of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). When this breaks down it forms water (H2O) and oxygen (O2) and this makes it harmless. Its is the oxygen (O2) which helps brighten the teeth.
